Privacy Policy

BarClock is built privacy-first. Here's exactly what we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it — the short version is that the app runs on clock math, not your data.

1. Information We Collect

  • No account, no profile — BarClock has no account system, no login, and no sign-up. The countdown runs entirely on your device using clock math. We do not collect your name, email, broker, trading history, or market activity to run the app.
  • Local settings only — Your alert configuration, timeframes, GMT offsets, sounds, and themes are stored locally on your device and are never uploaded. We cannot see them.
  • Support messages — If you contact us through the website contact form or by email, we receive the name, email address, and message you choose to send so we can reply.
  • No market data — The app needs no price feed, broker login, or trading credentials, and never asks for them.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Support — Contact details you send us are used solely to respond to your question. They are never used for advertising targeting or added to marketing lists without your consent.
  • Purchases — Pro and Lifetime purchases are processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We receive only the anonymised entitlement status needed to unlock Pro features — never your payment details.
  • Diagnostics — If you opt in through your device settings, the store may share anonymised crash diagnostics with us. These contain no personal or trading information and can be disabled at any time.

3. Data Sharing

  • We do not sell your data. Full stop. Nothing you send us is sold or rented to third parties.
  • App stores — Google Play and the Apple App Store process purchases under their own privacy policies.
  • Service providers — We use vetted third-party services for website hosting and support ticketing. All providers are contractually prohibited from using your data for their own purposes.
  • Legal requirements — We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.

4. Data Security

  • Local-first by design — The most sensitive thing about a trading tool is how you trade. BarClock never sees it: timeframes, offsets, and alert settings never leave your device.
  • Encryption in transit — Support messages sent through the website are transmitted over TLS.
  • No advertising network — The app is not connected to Google Ads, Facebook Pixel, or any ad tracking network.

5. Data Retention

  • App data — Lives only on your device and is removed when you uninstall the app.
  • Support messages — Retained only as long as needed to resolve your request; deleted on request.
  • Website logs — Standard server and access logs are retained for 90 days and then deleted.

6. Your Rights

  • Access — Request a copy of any personal data we hold about you via support@barclock.com.
  • Deletion — Request deletion of your support correspondence at any time. We will process the request within 30 days.
  • Portability — Request a machine-readable export of any data we hold about you.
  • To exercise any right, contact support@barclock.com. We aim to respond within 5 business days.

7. Children's Privacy

  • BarClock is intended for users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us personal information, contact support@barclock.com and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the effective date above. Continued use of BarClock after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
